Rev. Marie A. Eastman, MDiv, MBA, BCC

 Professional Chaplain, Wedding Celebrant, Coach/Leader, & Life-long Learner

A native of Vassalboro, Maine, and graduate of UMO, Rev. Marie serves as staff chaplain at Ochsner Medical Center in Slidell, LA. She earned her MDiv at the Earlham School of Religion in Richmond, IN, and completed Clinical Pastoral Education residencies in York, PA, and New Orleans, LA, after having been ordained Interfaith Minister by the Chaplaincy Institute of Maine (ChIME) in 2008. She has achieved APC Board Certification as a Professional Chaplain. Rev. Marie is a member of Central St. Matthews United Church of Christ (UCC) in New Orleans. In addition to professional chaplaincy, Marie is interested in transitional parish ministry, international service, and experiential education. Marie was a founding member and organizer of the Tourmaline Singers, a hospice singing group active in Central Maine since its beginning 2007. She loves to travel, having studied and worked in several other countries, including three years in Senegal as a Peace Corps Volunteer and a year and a half in Paris, France; she  speaks German and French quite fluently, in addition to conversational Dutch and a growing ability to function in Spanish. Marie's family includes an independent long-haired tuxedo cat, Somebody's Tux.
